Hello, Friends -
I’ve been thinking about the concept of inheriting fears lately.
Whether we are talking about nature or nurture, we are a product of those who raised us and those we spend the most time with as adults. The influences of our nearest and dearest are undeniable. Good and bad, I think these influences are worth evaluating or even just noticing. Fears can hold us back, but understanding them can propel us forward.
With that in mind, I invite you to consider a few questions:
What are the fears of the people closest to you?
Have you adopted any of those fears as your own?
Do those fears truly align with your beliefs?
Dang, that’s a lot of questions! Maybe hearing from this hummingbird will be more soothing.
It might feel like a big question, but I think there is something freeing in asking, “Are these fears my own?” Because if they aren’t, now there is separation between you and those fears. And with that separation, it might be easier to move forward.
