I’ve written about making space for rest a few times, usually in December when holiday chaos is at an all time high. If you need a warm reminder to take it easy, I invite you to revisit Less Hustle, More Naps and I Wish You Less.
There’s something about spring that causes me to struggle with the push and pull of activity and rest in a similar way. This time of year I get glimmers of hope for a new, warmer future. But I also feel sluggish… like I’m trying to restart an old lawnmower that’s been sitting in the garage all winter long. One warm day will fill me with energy. I’ll go on a long walk! And the next day a cold rain will make me want to crawl right back into bed. Maybe it’s the start of allergy season. Maybe it’s the time change. Maybe it’s just the natural transition of seasons!
Push, pull. Move, rest.
